The Skills Challenge

The Skate IA Skills Challenge – for all inline skaters – offers you a step-by-step challenge to expand what is possible on skates.

* Get a step-by-step list of skills that build upon one another
* Discover new moves to learn, based on your level and interest, to expand your skating ability
*Take on the challenge to set a goal and then rise up to meet the challenge

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
Helmet
Elbow Pads
Knee Pads
Wrist Guards
Skates (inline or quad)
* Skates with brakes must be non-marking

Suggested Attire: long pants, long shirt or sweater, light jacket

Registration Fee: $5 (includes skills challenge booklet, inline skate and gear rental – helmet, elbow pads, knee pads and wrist guards – manufactured by Rollerblade and SisGear. Participants may bring their own equipment but must pass an equipment check before joining the challenge)

Agility on Inline Skates – $99
Thursdays from 6:15pm – 7:15pm
Session Dates: May 12- June 16, 2022
Registration capped at 20 participants

Agility on Inline Skates prepares skaters ages 6-12 to transition to speed skating. Participants will learn how to make sharp turns in both directions, maneuver quickly on their edges, pivot from forwards to backwards, and crossover quickly and powerfully on roller blades. Class will take place on the cement surface of the oval footprint. Those who master Agility on Inline Skates can expect to improve their speed skating technique when they return to the ice in the fall.

2 Foot Mogul Ski

Lateral Pivot: Forward to Backward

Registration fee includes skate and gear rental (helmet, elbow pads, knee pads and wrist guards) manufactured by Rollerblade and SisGear. Students must use inline roller blades and protective equipment provided by the facility, but may bring their own helmet that fits to size.

*Plan to arrive by 6:00pm to get skates and protective gear on and be ready to go by the time instruction starts at 6:15pm.

Instructor possess a multidisciplinary skating background and professional certification through SKATE IA, an organization that serves both skaters and instructors, intending “to expand and inspire what is possible on skates.”

Online registration will close at 12pm the day before each day’s first class. (Example: Saturday classes close on Friday at 12pm). We will accept in person registration through the second week of classes (based on availability).
