Summer Inline Skate Skills Class for Kids (Ages 6 – 10) – $35
Tuesdays from 6:15pm – 6:55pm
Session Dates: July 14 & 21, July 28 & August 4, August 11 & 18
Registration capped at 8 participants.
The Summer Inline Skate Skills Class teaches students foundational movements for skating on roller blades. Through step-by-step instructions that help to promote balance and strength, skaters will develop gross motor skills at a critical age and participate in activities to reinforce learning.
Some of the skills you will learn:
- How to Fall/How not to Fall
- How to Get Up
- V-Walk to Basic Stride
- Heel Stop
- Backwards Skating (Backward Swizzles or Backwards Stroking)
- Parallel Turns
Registration fee includes skate and gear rental (helmet, elbow pads, knee pads and wrist guards) manufactured by Rollerblade and SisGear. Students must use inline roller blades and protective equipment provided by the facility, but may bring their own helmet that fits to size.
*Plan to arrive by 6:00pm to get skates and protective gear on and be ready to go by the time instruction starts at 6:15pm.
Instructor possess a multidisciplinary skating background and professional certification through SKATE IA, an organization that serves both skaters and instructors, intending “to expand and inspire what is possible on skates.”
Online registration will close at 12pm the day before each day’s first class. (Example: Saturday classes close on Friday at 12pm). We will accept in person registration through the second week of classes (based on availability).
